Sometimes I forget... truly blessed I am.
Being in college,
I often fall captive to the negative mindset
of "Ughh I'm going to fail!" or
"I never have time for fun anymore!"
However, having some spare time this weekend
helped me realize how fortunate I am.
Biochemistry will always create some anxiety in my life.
I will always feel self-conscious.
But there comes a point in your life where you just have to
stand back and reflect upon how blessed you are to have been given the life you have.
It could always be much worse.
It reminds me of that popular pin on Pinterest:

Thank you God

It hit me this past week,
I have been rushing right through my favorite time of year.
Fall is already too short of a season,
why have I not been savoring each moment of it?
So that is exactly what I chose to do during my long, holiday weekend--
enjoy the fall season.

I started my Saturday off with a Cancer Awareness 5k on campus...
It was a chilly one, I can assure you.
I didn't get any pictures of me actually running it,
but you will just have to trust me when I say that I really did get 1st for women,
and I really did finish 6th overall.
{Yes, I may have just patted myself on my back.
And no, it would not surprise me if you are shaking your head right now}
I ran in memory of Sam-- a friend from high school who lost his battle to leukemia last year

After I cleaned myself up a bit,
my best friend, Kacie, and I ventured back out into the crisp air
and enjoyed ourselves.
(Imagine that--you really can take a break from the books once and awhile!)

These picture so accurately illustrate my love for this season.
To warm up after, we hit-up a local coffee shop, Choco Latte,
and indulged in spiced cider and a pumpkin sauce latte.
(My mouth is watering just reminiscing about it...)
We also stocked up on some supplies before heading back to Kacie's house,
where we camped out for the rest of the day--
decorating pumpkins and getting me caught up on Pretty Little Liars.Speaking of PLL, I am still in shock after the summer finale...
Let's be honest, we all knew Mona was one crazy b----, eh, you know what I mean...
but the other A?!? Say what?!

While I recover from my shock after catching up with PLL,
let me know how you spent your Native American Day/Columbus Day weekend?

The Great Unveiling

Like any great middle-aged woman,
I love HGTV.
I can't get enough of seeing homes transform from blah to dazzling.
Except, I'm not a middle-aged woman.
I've always been a bit of an old soul though...
In the 9th grade, my favorite magazine was Good Housekeeping.
Which leads me to the questions on your minds,
"How does this girl have any friends?"
Believe me, I've been wondering the same thing for years.
It's one of God's mysteries, I would guess.

Anyway, back to HGTV.
My favorite part about those shows is the much anticipated room reveal
And let me tell you, I get into these shows.
When watching House Hunters, I'm practically on the edge of my seat--
dying to see which room they choose.
So you can probably imagine my excitement as I am about to unveil some photos from
my bedroom makeover.
Now don't fall off your seats, folks--
I know the anticipation is killing you.
But first, take a quick minute to go back and check out what my room looked like

Did you look back and reminisce?
10-points for you.
I think taking another look at those nasty butterscotch walls
allows you to truly soak in the progress my room has made.

Drum roll, puhhhlease!

It may definitely not as luxurious Blair Waldorf's room,
but it is my little place to call home.

I am off to sleep in that cozy bed above.
I bet you can even picture me curled up,
now that you know what my room looks like.
That's not creepy at all.

Without A Trace

Ohhh College.
I love college.
My nights have been pretty wild lately.
It really doesn't get much crazier than me, my laptop,
and some quality time with statistical analysis.
See what I mean?
Just living the dream, ladies and gentlemen.
Livin' the dream.

So if you have been wondering why I have been gone, without a trace,
from the blogospohere lately...
The above picture accurately depicts where I have been camped out.
All day. Errday.

But just in case you think I haven't had a little fun in college,
I did make it to the SDSU Beef Bowl Game this weekend...
yes, you heard me right.
Only in SD are cows auctioned off at half-time.
My roommate Tasha and I (aka debate partners for life)...
Our other two roomies, Alyssa and Amanda are in the background.
This was the only picture I got of the four of us.
There you have it--
a little proof that I have not fallen' off the face of the universe.
No worries.
I'm still here.
Once life slows down a bit (fingers crossed),
I hope to post more regularly.
As for now,
I will keep ya posted between biochemistry and food science and internship applications and exams and Dietetics and Health Science meetings...
ya catch my drift?
I will do my best to keep ya'll posted...
but I can't promise any miracles.
This girl is no Wonder Woman...
But I certainly try to be ;)
